Hi All,

Does anyone know what it is I should be looking for when collimating a refractor? I have the Howie Glatter along with the holographic grid pattern attachment. Am I suppose to measure the x and y lengths of one of the projected individual boxes to be sure that they measure the same?

When you get done doing whatever you end up doing, put the front cap on the scope and put the cheshire in the diagonal. You should have the 'good collimation' image on page 3. If not, try loosening the lock screws on the diagonal and wiggling it about until your do. Or you could try that to begin with. My experience is that diagonal misalignment is the rule rather than the exception.
