Looking forward to a 150 ED Evoluxe smirk.gif

We will see what comes in the future. Right now the 62 and 82 are the only models but we are hoping the line expands as well.

An Evoluxe version of the ED 72 would be cool.

Part of the reason I held off on the AT80ED is for the 82 skywatcher Evolux, only because I’ve never had a single issue with Sky-Watcher. No offense to AT whatsoever, just I love Skywatcher’s

I like my Equinoxes. The black diamond colour sparkles in moonlight, sliding same-colour hood and 2 speed focusers. Also the better CNC rings that came with 100 & 120 scopes.

Best improvements to the Evoluxes will be the focusers. Will the 62 have a 2" focuser? My 66 Equinox has only a 1.25".

Yes, the Evolux 62 will have a 2" focuser on it as well.

A big factor in why I chose my 120ED was because it was a very lightweight scope. I hear this from many people.

Hopefully these new scopes, once they get larger, still remain light, mostly since they can ride comfortable on a GP size mount comfortably.

If a new 120ED came in 5 or 6 pounds heavier, it will have to complete with other versions of this scope currently on the market.

A new 120ED would end up bring above $2k easily since the current 120ED is getting close to that price already in its plain jane configuration.

Hopefully they tread lightly and read the market correctly when it comes to changing their very successful Evostar line of scopes. Cost is everything, especially since "everyone" sells perfect optics now.

Look what the lower price Skywatcher 150ED did to Marcus's APM 152ED refractor, Hes stopping production on them because he cant complete because of cost.

Scopes listed in the official italian Skywatcher site.

https://www.skywatch...tici/evolux-ed/

The type of low dispersion ED glass used is, however, completely different from the existing series. Therefore, it was necessary to radically change the design of the optical scheme, in particular the lens curvatures and form factors.  The optical treatments are the same.

I too love Skywatcher Scopes! This is why I own the 100mm and 150mm eds. I would pick up the 120, but already have a couple of 120's (Orion) on hand.
