UPS just delivered mine! Wow - its awesome. Packaged like it should be and opening it up was pure joy. What a great deal for such a nice instrument. Now i have to wait until Christmas to enjoy it - its a together gift with my girlfriend. We are both interested in astronomy. Something to do together...

Now onto the mount, stand and eye-pieces. Money, money, money.

Side note - my scope did not include the Strehl ratio sheet that i have seen others get - was this an over sight or something StellarVue not doing anymore?

I don't think SV does the Strehl on the Access line. I got a quality checklist with my 102, but no Strehl report.

Wow, what self control you must have not to look through it until Christmas! There was no Strehl report with mine either.

Thanks - it was just one of those things everyone always talked about and kind of made me want one too, although, im new to the hobby. this is my first proper scope i like to say.

Right now im trying to find a tri-pod with little shakes that works as a g&g and im thinking about the M1 mount. Of course eyepieces are next too and my first scope i had they were on the cheep side - so wanting to step it up quite a bit. im excited to see big expansive views of the skies.

SV80A #289 made is safely to Minnesota and is protected by a very thick layer of clouds.

Sorry to hear about the clouds!

272 arrived in Ashland, OR and will be out under the stars tonight! Slick looking little scope. I'll be comparing to my Megrez 90 and TS Photoline 90 (will some sales in the classifieds up soon).

#286 saw first light last night. To me, this is a beautiful telescope with better optics than I have ever owned! Nothing else in my signature comes even close to the clarity, contrast, and in-focus stars to the edge of the FOV. The terminator of the half moon was absolutely breathtaking from a TV 26mm Plossl to a TV 6mm Radian, even using a TV 1 1/4” 2.5X Barlow.  I am very impressed!

I would be interest to know how it compares to the TS Photoline 90 (which I also have...)

Thanks!

Have you played with the balance yet? I have a couple options with different length dove plates but wont know what's what until I get mine in hand.
Expected delivery of Tuesday!

Ordered mine Nov. 9th, just received today. Anybody know the screw size for on top of the rings? I was expecting 1/4-20 but it is definitely not that. Appears to be a finer thread, perhaps 1/4-28.. Not a big deal, I was going to go by the hardware store and find the right size, just asking in case someone already knew.

Congratulations! I’ve had mine for two weeks now and I love it!

My Rings have 6 mm diameter holes.

How long is the dew shield on the SVA80?

How far does it extended above the front surface of the lens?

I think the new AT-80 with the Aston Martin grey focuser and excellent price has caused this price drop.

Tough to beat Stellarvue though, they have excellent focusers, not just in feel but it rotates how one would expect a focuser to rotate. Not metal dragging on metal.

Has anybody ordered the SFFR-80A Flattener/Reducer to pair with their SV-80A?  I am trying to figure out the Extension I will need between the Reducer and the Camera.  The camera is an ASI 533 Pro.
