That's a terrific wide-field view, with great color and tons of detail!

I have to ask, though...what's causing the sort of odd diffraction patterns on the brighter stars?

Thank you Paul! That's coming from lens itself. I used sigma 100-400 @280mm which drops down to f6 at that focal length.  Bit disappointed with that lens now

Love the image. I am working on it too.

Does the lens you are using have an iris vane diaphragm that could cause the diffraction pattern?

On the contrary, it proves tkottary used the lens wide open. See this thread

Indeed it was wide open though f6. Thanks for the link, that explains it.

From what I’ve noticed with mine is the diffraction pattern is due to the ZTF (I have the Z6 and similar pattern on multiple f-mount lenses and telescopes with t-adopters to f-mount via the FTZ). But I don’t have these effects when using MFT t m-adapter to my GH4.

I need to test with a S-Line lens and see if it disappears (then it’s the on each pixel but I’m thinking no).

I’m exploring a T-Z adapter options which should eliminate the diffraction as they would replace the FTz adapter.
