it was a casual shootout, since we didn't use same magnification/ diagonals, etc.

But to my eyes, i was not able to see any difference in the views thru both scopes, besides magnification.

views of jove and saturn were essentially identical.

star colors in double cluster ~same.

brightness of m31/32 ~same.

contrast on lunar features ~same.

 

not bad for fast lil astrograph.

Is the Baby-Q a fast astrograph that happens to be good for visual, or a pinpoint visual scope that by virtue of its quad flat field is a superb astrograph? Everyone knows it's the latter.

The babyQ works more forgivingly and nicer as a visual scope than the 106 does.

The babyQ works more forgivingly and nicer as a visual scope than the 106 does. 

Other than differences in focuser travel altering eyepieces selection, FSQ106 and 85 work equally well visually for me. -Phil
