Got a 0.5x Optec reducer and its better than I expected. 

Used the mid sized 183 camera @ f/5.9.

 

6 panel Mosaic about 80Mpix.

Rouz, the image of Copernicus turned out well, and the mosaic shows promise, but something has happened during processing to cause significant quantization error and banding.  This is especially evident along the terminator, but is also present in regions far from the terminator, such as the floor of the Sea of Serenity and elsewhere.  Large regions have been clipped to exactly one pixel value without variation, leading to a series of patches.  How was this image created, because your other lunar images show no signs of these quantization banding errors.

I had a few problems. First of all not sure why there was a matrix banding pattern with the QHY183. Don't know why there is a Wred, Wgreen and Wblue gain on a mono camera and then the actual gain as well. 

 

The gain was also very low, I suspect that could be why also?

 

It was still light out so that could be another reason?

 

I had to do some aggressive noise reduction, that could have caused that quantization error, and some curve stretching made it worse.

 

The image with the reducer doesn't geometrically match on both side of each panel, that wasn't fun to line up.

The Qhy with firecapture is slower than sharpcap, you cant lower the USB traffic to = 0 (fastest).
