I have been working on a "project" mount for a while now - a Meade LX70 (CG5) w/AstroEQ DIY GOTO controller, steppers and belt drive, and a Stellarmate OS Pi4.

Last night, under a near-full moon, I shot 90x60s frames unguided, no dithering, ES80 APO, D5300 @ISO200. I added artificial flats this afternoon. Found and selected target in Kstars, plate solved, centered, and capture in Ekos, stacked in DSS 64-bit w/changes applied, and did slight touch-up in FastStone image viewer (my "field" rig is very limited in regards to editing).

For what it is, I'm pleased.

Thank you!

I am quite pleased with this project. At the end of the second night I noticed some of the bolts had come loose. Since returning home, I've applied thread-lock so that won't happen again. I'm interested in seeing how the guiding goes. wink.gif One step at a time.

This is the rig used-
