A wooden OTA? It makes sense for thermal expansion but I'd be so scared of few.

Beautiful scopes and I agree those prices are reasonable.

Beyond dew, how do the wood OTAs hold collimation in high humidity environments? I respect the innovation and the craftsmanship. Really intrigued by the mechanics of it all.

Dew isn't a problem, the wood is completely waterproof.

 

Regarding holding collimation, we put Invar rods between the Objective Cell and the back focuser plate.

 

Invar is close to fused silica for coefficient of thermal expansion.

 

It's also used to hold the baffles in place.

 

Here is a small sample, a picture is worth a thousand words.
