An 8x30 Marca "MOS," as per the description in the ad?

Never heard of that kind before.

That's a Brazilian eBay like site. This person wants to trade these binoculars for a cell phone. He is saying the MOS is the Brand or "Marca".

"MOS" stands for Multiple Optical System...and I don't think that is a brand, just a advertisement promoting the binoculars.

They look very similar to these on eBay, "Omega" brand.

Maybe "Selsi"?

Or you could get lucky and it's an off brand of this model: ASAHI PENTAX 8X30 COATED OPTICS MODEL JUPITER BINOCULARS W/ CASE

(scroll down the eBay page for better views.)

Good luck! It's definitely a "Mid century" pair of Binoculars, that probably came from Japan, and were relabeled by local vendor's as their product.

Clear skies!

If you want to do some searching, you might find something here: http://www.europa.co...pe/binotele.htm (scroll down to the binocular section). I had a look at the Japanese logos from 1957-1973 but couldn't find "MOS".

Have fun!
