Had a try at this from my red zone with my stock DSLR, not much luck.  ED80, K50 ISO800  28x120s

That is a faint target. Less than 1 hour of total exposure is not enough time, even from a dark site.

Yup, I can usually tell from what I get in an hour if its worth trying to get more. I'll be camping at a bortle 2 sky for a week the end of the month. Will be my first other then imaging from a bortle 8, can't wait.
