This one is coming up pretty dry on Google searches.. appears to be a 114mm x 1000 reflector catadioptric..does anyone know anything about the scope or mount? It's available locally and appears the owner know little about it..it's best offer and thinking it could be had for $50 CAD ...0a6c04d2a7536fd3c96b77848f6ea760.jpg04193e2c3d1bab4e293cff023df3a194.jpgf2f7e6c2f1e68a95013de80bb3397435.jpg523a4599392ddb6fa264b55674c11440.jpg

Sorry, I don't know anything about this scope.. But if you can get it for $50 I'd say pick it up! It looks like it just needs some basic cleaning.

This appears to be a "bigger brother" to the Tanzutsu sold as a "Milben" here in this thread https://www.cloudyni...his-milben-744/ & where I "nearly" bought one here in Oz under another branding...

Your "Carl Wetzlar" is just another branding imho - bigger than the 76mm Bird-Jones in the last 2 links I gave the OP who purchased the Milben but similar to the "Nocon" (114mm) in the first link below: is that simply a "normal" finderscope in the first image at about 9 o'clock, or is it some sort of "pick-off" unit..?

See  https://www.cloudyni...n-114mm-score/ & also  https://www.cloudyni...at/#entry782565  or   https://www.cloudyni...-have-i-bought/

I had a "Carl Wetzlar" 60*800mm refractor for a while, also diamond-T (Tanzutsu) branded optics. I was told not to expect too much but it had decent, sharp optics. Same Kraft cheese orange colour. I believe they were imported and sold through the old Eaton's department stores and catalogues, which explains why all of the ones I have seen were in Canada, like yours and mine. $50 CAD sounds like a good price to me.

Interesting that the corrector plate is branded Tanzutsu but the silver sticker says Towa.

Eaton's Canada would explain the all Canadian posts ..far enough away I may have trouble getting it picked up ..if I can I probably will grab it..
