Link to Teeter's Telescopes website. Does anyone know where the stainless steel stud that the sling rides on can be found in the photo about half-way down the page (sorry, couldn't figure out how to paste photo)? I'm sure it's not proprietary.

Based on the description, sounds like a short section of Thomson shaft, that has had the ends threaded.

That is a Glatter Sling they are selling.

I have one for my 18" Obsession.

Nice design, recirculating ball type linear bearing on a precision shaft modified to mount directly to the existing mirror box frame.

No modifications necessary.

I don't think I could have replicated it from off the shelf components for the price they are charging for it.

FYI, I design machines for a living so I have some experience regarding this.

I saw their video about that. Very smooth shaft, and precision bearings.

What happens if the cable ends are fixed instead of slideable? 120 degree contact? Has that been found to warp the mirror compared to the expensive stuff?
