$1245, which EP's would you buy to make a set? I'd buy a 24mm Panoptic, an 18.2mm Delite, a 13mm T6, a TV 3X barlow and have money left over for dinner and a movie..

Given an EP budget of....

My current fleet of 17.3, 12 and 8mm Delos. I prefer the 72º field to the 82º and very much prefer it to the 100º plus lines. Throw in a 41 Panoptic, too....but puts me over budget.....
Then there is the very nice eye relief with the adjustable 'barrel'? whatchamacallit......
Many others prefer wider Naglers , Ethoi etc. or the more legendary ZAO's or Brandons or what-have-you. But for me the Delos are the bees knees.

1100mm f/7.3 scope & I'd be wanting exit pupils of 5, 2.5, 1.25, 0.6mm. So that means eyepiece of ~36, 18, 9, 4.5 mm.
So let's see 5XW ($300), 10 Delos ($350), 17.5 Morpheus ($240) and 35 Panoptic ($390). Total $1280.
I'd have a pretty usable magnification range from 31x to 220x, plenty of eye relief and about 70deg afov on every eyepiece.
$35 over... So maybe I'd use my CN discount.

Exactly how did you come up with that number? Last paycheck or alimony payment?

31T5, 20 & 13mm (or 9mm) APM HDC, 5T6, 3.5T6
How much does that leave? Buy 'em used, maybe sub the very good ES82 30 for the 31T5. I was not too good at budgets but I did get results.

Whatever one chooses, used is the way to go IMO as you can sometimes get 3 (used) for the price of 2 (new).

I’d buy an Apollo 11 from Televue and sell it for more? Then buy more eyepieces with higher budget?

I want to thank all those who buy new, which gives us a chance to buy used when they sell!

That's just about what I paid for my current line-up. All eyepieces were purchased used:
Pentax XL 5.5 mm
Pentax XW 7 mm
Pentax XW 10 mm
Vixen LVW 13 mm
Vixen LVW 22 mm
Pentax XL 40 mm
I'm willing to give up some FoV for comfort in viewing.
