My kit plane(CH200) went to a fellow in Paris Ont.He told me it flies real nice!I guess I put those rivits in the right holes after all <g>.

Yup, it is starting to warm up. For a recent viewing session
at John's Observalavatory we were able to do some binoviewing in our spring attire, as the picture of the Gillies Boyz shows. Even John's sled dog has shed her winter coat. Next year I will try to get a pic in our cold weather gear and of my Igloobservatory before it melts

It is spring there! 
No frost on your Bakalva's! And I can't see your breath.
The ice broke last week (aka it broke 100 degrees). So now we have to break out the dew heaters to preheat our scopes before we can use them. I'd shoot you a picture too but the heat keeps shorting out the batteries.
Just measured our crop of Sunflowers; tallest is only 9'-10" (I'm sorry, I forgot my audience; just over 3 meters).
You never see pictures (tourism department prevents it) but we wear similar cloths that you have on, in the summer, to keep from burning our selves on hot door knobs, arm rests and the like. I keep a towel in the car so I can handle the steering wheel before the A/C cools it off (I'm NOT kidding on that one).
Excuse me, I have to go out to the sidewalk and check on breakfast.

Heh Ron,
A moose just tried to knock over the observatory but thankfully a swarm of blackflies drove it off!!:-))).Our sled dogs are still wearing their winter coats but will shed before August I think,oops meant sled cats sorry.<g>

It must be spring if you have black flies. Man I hate black flies. 
Ticks, mosquitoes & black flies. **** fruit flies are a distance forth and I really hate fruit flies.
So I suppose you have cloudy nights because the flies are so thick?

Oh, boy! Just got back from RTMC last night and had a chance to look through a few Coronado-equipped scopes with a nice shiny set of Denkmeier Twos. I'm quivering with anticipation of the delivery of my Denks, hopefully in time for the Grand Canyon Star Party.
For me, the gain in visible solar disk detail going from a SM60 cyclops to the same rig with the binoviewer was very similar to the gain seen when stacking a second etalon in cyclops mode. Not quite as large a gain for the bino, but not nearly the expense, either. And if you absolutely must have the best possible view, you can always stack a second etalon later for another big boost in visible detail....

p.s. - Nice to hear that there are other aviation lovers here - that RV-7 remains just a dream for me, though...

Cape Royal is at the end of the North Rim scenic road, at about 7900 feet (edit - I had the elevation wrong). Don't recall exact mileage from the Lodge area, but allow 30 minutes or so to get there - slow drive on a scenic road. Big parking lot, spectacular views, NO LIGHTS! Last year about 15 astronomers set up there on Friday night. Just about as good a sky as I'd ever experienced until a few days later when several of us trooped out to an old Mormon Wagon Trail SE of Escalante, Utah.
The North Rim Lodge sun porch is a fine public venue, but setup, especially for big scopes, is a hassle, and you must knock down every night. There is also a small amount of ambient light from the Lodge, although they really do their best to turn everything possible out for us. I intend to spend the earlier part of the week setting up at the Lodge, and doing public solar work at various view spots during the days. I'm going to be in the North Rim campground from the 22nd through the 29th.
It will be fun to meet you!
