Next gen Polarie with upgraded mechanics and electronics.

Wonder if this will be available in US.

Looks like it will be available Jan 2020 in Japan....  typically I see Vixen US selling new products a couple months after release, so perhaps March 2020?

They first showed it on CP+ 2019 :-

I was tempted on it but saw the price. If it’s backward compatible to the former Polarie, then I may consider picking up the Polarie U. I have a little too much invested in the Polarie with T-Factory PCB-EQ2/3 products.

To me it looks that Vixen looked good to the SkyAdventurer...which i already owns.

The wireless smartphone connection looks nice but i don't know why i should use it. And the standard Polarfinder looks like it not very usable.

The price 62.000 Yen = 500 euro...One can buy a Skyadeventurer for less then 350 euro here in Europe.

I would be rather interested in what seems an upgraded polar wedge.
As for the tracker itself it looks nice, especially for those interested in landscape photography because it doubles as a panoramic motorized head (the possibility to set the speed, and to pause the tracking while shooting, are pretty interesting)

The list price for the original Polarie was 47,000 yen, but quickly dropped to about 30,000.... hopefully we can expect the same with this one

That's the 70th anniversary R200SS.

These are the pix of the Polarie U & R200SS at the Vixen booth in CP+ 2019 Yokohama back in March :-

So I’ve been conversing with T-Factory who makes their own mount adapters for the Polarie, and they’re now doing one for the Polarie U called the PCBU-EQ :-

For folks like me who have the older PCB-EQ2/3 with the original Polarie :-

most of accessories like the shaft and counterweight are compatible with the newer PCBU-EQ. Unfortunately, one accessory, the PoleMaster adapter for PCB-EQ2/3 is not compatible with the newer PCBU-EQ.

Unfortunately as I have a lot invested into the older Polarie and PCB-EQ2/3, it’s highly unlikely that I’ll be moving up to the newer Polarie U & matching PCBU-EQ. Otherwise this would have been a very nice portable integrated solution.

can’t wait for vixen to also upgrade sphinx mounts using smart devices as controllers.

I hope they will not do that!
The Starbook TEN is as good as skysafari and unlike the phone is nice to use even when it is cold
