I managed to get four cats and one refractor in a photo. I challenge you to get five cats and one refractor in a photo or any combo of cats and refractors you can come up with!

You could have gotten yourself in the pic if you had scooted over a bit.

Agatha- That's a great pic! The kitty matches the scope color!

coopman- yes, I tried to stay out of the mirror, lol! I have 5 cats, but two of them hate each other and won't go near each other.

I’m allergic to the furry kind.

It didn’t even make it out of the box before the cat claimed it. The box is now the cats bed of course.

But that one doesn't purr frown.gif

(I like both 'brands' - but don't have either one, so I could only post refractors-without-any-cats pics wink.gif )

Oooh! That keeps the mirror nice and warm. And if the cat is fluffy... then it's dust free too! lol.gif

Cats just love boxes, lol! They stole my scope boxes too. They also love sitting outside with me while I observe. They go insane if I don't let them out. I'll be at my scope, and they sit in the windows and cry and also try to rip open the front door, forcing me to let them out. Most of them sit around the scope and behave, but there's always one that walks over to the neighbor's garage and triggers the stinking yard light!

My cat climbed on board during a viewing session: the "cat nebula" is really dark, and the balance of the scope isn't too good either: it goes to the zenith all by itself!...

My dog and my cat are the same way - if I go out in the backyard, they like to be with me which is fine by me. I often take my dog to remote sites as well - she loves the car ride. I also have a rabbit who likes to come out in the backyard with the others. Hmmmm... I think I am starting to understand why my wife calls me "Dr. Dolittle". I thought it was just because I'm lazy! LOL!

I used too have two cats, both black and whites, and one would observe with me. Sadly she passed almost a year ago. But the other a male named Perky has now taken up the slack and just lays on the grass a few feet from the scope.

That's Sniffer doing what got him his name, sniffing anything interesting.

Sniffer passed away in August at 16.  :(

See my avatar.  She likes the Stardust chair as a perch, and it wasn't any challenge to get her interested in the eyepiece.  A split second after the shot was taken I had to pull the scope away as she had decided to rub her face on the eyepiece.  [Note to self: use the cheap junk "comes-in-box" eyepieces next time.]
