Hello,

Does anyone know if the GOTO drive on the Skywatcher EQM-35 mount is available separately? (not attached to the CG-4 mount)

Thanks!

If you already have a mount and now you are looking at adding GOTO feature to your mount then you may want to do an OnStep conversion. It is a DIY job and can be done as cheap as $80 to $100 and it includes drive electronics and drive motors. Your Android phone will work as its hand control. There is a GIO group very active on this.

I would suspect No.

The EQM35 was/is fairly new and Skywatcher seem to be moving away from mount and goto as seperate items. So expect the EQM to be only supplied as Goto and no seperate drive unit/system.

Also bit unsure of the description given - the goto will be part of the head not the mount.

If the idea is ungrade an existing mount to goto then you need the goto for that mount, another will not work as it should. I believe the EQM has a finer worm drive then where I believe it was derived from (EQ 3-2??). In effect the mechanical drive is a different ratio.
