I am looking for some help. I own the astro tec 12" imaging newtonian and have owned it for a few years. I shelved the scope due to major mirror flop. The mirror flop is so significant for example, on a goto slew the object is not in the ccd fov, whereas the previous object was centered and sync'd . My goto's are dead accurate with another other optical tube, it is defintily the mirror shift.
I have already upgraded the focuser to a moonlite with the hi res motor and was wondering on everyone thoughts on does it make sense to upgrade the mirror cell, or are the modifications that can be made to the stock cell. any recommendations on rock solid cells that are better than the current cell. Are there any concerns or "watch-outs" please let me know. I have an extra mount and would love to image with this scope.
