AAPOD2 is a site dedicated to the Amateur Astro-Photographer. Each day, beginning January 1, 2020, a new image will be selected. The AAPOD2 winning image of the day and then be showcased on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and on our website https://www.aapod2.com/ (coming soon) for 24 hours.

To be considered, please add your images on the Facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/aapod2) with a short description and any image details about your picture.

It must be your picture, taken with your equipment and processes by you or a collaborator, for whom you should mention.

Remote imagining is fine, so long as it is from a private enterprise and not a government funded observatory.

Only Amateur Astro-Photographers will be considered for AAPOD2's.

If selected, you will be notified in advance so that you can be prepared for the millions of new friend requests this honor will bring upon you. JK.

Please find AAPOD2 on facebook and request to join and start posting images.

Good luck and Clear Skies

Jason Matter

Glad you see AAPOD2 Is coming back to life.  Is it under new management?

Who operates it, from where, and how?  How, or by whom, is it supported?

Best, Bob

Is a Facebook account absolutely necessary?  I have 5 former AAPOD wins but I absolutely loathe FB.

Its a new startup. We attempted to keep AAPODx2 going but never received a response from them.  Several Amateur Astronomers are running and supporting it. We are handling all image submissions through Facebook or an online submit form through the website, once it is up and running.

Hondo, Absolutely not. We will have a submission form at https://www.aapod2.com shortly. You can submit your image link and image details there. We will also be submitting the winners via Instagram, Twitter or our website so there will be plenty of places to see your potential winning image and to share from.
