Lately, when I've been coming across articles and information about exoplanets the first thing I want to know is where it is in the sky and hopefully, can I see the star? Pollux and 51 Pegasi  got me going as I can point them out and know that they have gas giants in orbit.

I had had a look at Wikipedia and saw the list of List of nearest exoplanets here:

 https://en.m.wikiped...rest_exoplanets

Within this list are 12 stars with rocky planets that may be in the habitable zone and under 31 Ly distant. I searched each star in SkySafari 5 Pro and made an observing list. Most are in the northern hemisphere, the faintest is just under 14mag and one, I believe is a naked eye star. Each star has a wiki page link I've added as an "observation". Note I think the last 2 were not in the SS5P data set so I selected the nearest and made note of it. This means for all of the stars listed you are guaranteed to see these planets if you invoke your averted imagination!

I've yet to embark on the list but some we've all seen unknowingly perhaps (in Cetus).

i don't know if the file will upload: nope. Cut & paste: nope

Here is the text, if you copy this to a file and give it the .skylist file extension it may work.

Sadly most of these are not visible from the UK this time of year. In fact, unless I'm mistaken, many are never visible. But I will certainly look at the ones I can next session. Thanks mate
