The December Full Moon, which is known as the Before Yule, Cold, and Oak Moon, in addition to the Long-Night (Long Night or Long Nights) Moon, occurred at 5:12 UT today so it made a bit of a stir on the old social media being that it fell on 12/12 at 12:12 a.m. EST.  I took a number of hand-held photographs using my Canon PowerShot SX720 HS camera at exactly that time.  Here's one of them.

The east coast had the best opportunity to catch this moon, but I was out in California at about the same time trying to image through some high clouds. Here is a link to my results (and more information on why this moon was pretty special for the U.S.).
