The moon was full and so I asked the question "what could I image"

LRGB imaging was a no no so what about a bit of narrow band with a twist.

I decided to use the Optolong LE enhance and break all the rules by using this filter on galaxies- I chose M81 & M82 using the RASA 11" & the QHY168C camera. I find this a great combination for a reason unknown to me the filter seems to match the sensor exactly and the channels all come out the same intensity which makes calibration & processing very easy.

The image consists of 156 1 minute subs and once again was unguided. I think the image would have been even better without the moon & thin cloud that made some of the images a bit hazy. I will retry when I get better conditions as the potential is great.

As always let me know what you think.

Best wishes

Mark

......and clear skies to you all.

Thanks Mike- I still have problems with the RASA. The collimation has slipped back to how it was before I sent the OTA away. I think its looking like the OTA will need to go back to the USA to be looked at by Celestron. This is annoying but what can you do.........
