Howdy! Is the wonderful product called "Wing Thing" extinct? Is it one of those dinosaurs from a past era? I often grapple with the uncomfortable task of fumbling with my NexStar hand controller. The Wing Thing mount was a perfect solution that created a convenient home for the controller! Does "Wing Thing" still exist? Can I buy three? Cheers! sct2.png

Hi Dave,

SS Optics (makers of the Wing Thing) has closed; the owners have retired.

JMI sells something similar for your SE series:

Dave adhesive-backed Velcro is a convenient solution... I slapped pieces in various strategic places on mount and tripod - even on the back of the scope, plus the "hooks" piece on the back of the handset. Slap the handset anywhere and it stays put.

The CPC HC Holder  can be found here as well as several other Vendors.

Also, the specs for 3D printing have been added to thingiverse

I couldn't fin the wing thing, or even the JMI version in stock. I went the route of the Steelie magnetic phone mount. Holds my hand control where I can see it and another one to hold the battery on the side.

If you have a 3D Printer, there's a great holder to be found there...

That's the one I have as well. I made some modifications to it though, adding a power distribution box,  a battery holder, a battery meter, and a plug in box for my home made electronic focuser. :)
