Hi Eric.  Thanks for the compliment and Merry Christmas.

Great shot and great presentation!

The only two things I wish I had done differently Daniel were:

1.) more integration time on the top 2 panels, so as to capture more of the red nebulosity.  Weather really played a role in limiting my time.

2.)  Better control of the stars.  I experimented with various masks and never got exactly what I wanted.  A little too much bloat due to noise reduction I think.  Kind of rushed it to get things done for Christmas presentation.  Always try to have something to post for this time of the year.

Thanks for taking the time to look and your kind words Daniel.  Merry Christmas.

Hi Andreas,

The p lum that I refer to is the lumenance  channel that I extracted from the rgb image.  I then paint that into the rgb image to help with the background noise after adjustments.

Excellent image!

Merry Christmas to you and your family too!!!

Thanks Mike

That's perfection, Gunny! I would flip it around as I find myself turning my head like an owl, but that's just me. :)

Hi Luca,

Thanks very much.  I'm still debating adding two more panels and getting that huge star Rigel to add to her beauty.  Would also like to do a little better on those stars, but at least I got the old girl after all of these years.  I was even happier to complete this for Christmas.

Oh, take a couple of advils for that pain in your neck...............wink.gif   Merry Christmas

Looks fabulous!

Merry Christmas Nemo and thanks.  CS..............
