I've been researching this protocol and started a PDF document detailing the findings. It's a work-in-progress and will be supplemented over the next several days as I go through my notes and raw data. It is accessible on-line at the below link. Note that this is for the version 3.XX telescope, and that cables, wiring, etc. is not covered, though that is available on-line elsewhere.

Short FAQ:
Who would find this valuable?
Possibly no one :-) Someone curious about the LX-200 design, someone wanting to write their own control software for that telescope, etc.

Meade provides all the  LX200  commands and also for the Autostar controller here https://www.meade.co...0CommandSet.pdf

Those are a different set of command codes. They are for the RS-232 port, not the hand controller port. The one in this thread is the control protocol used by the telescope and the original hand controller. It's more low-level in a sense, and allows you to do everything you could do with an actual hand controller, including the boot dialog.

I have added lots of information to this document as of today. It should still be available at the link above, and it is also in the "Files" area of the LX200-Classic group on groups.io. FYI.

Again, this is for the communications between the LX200 Classic and its hand controller, not the RS-232 command language.
