I also got my notification email today.

It is funny, yesterday I missed the TMB92SS that was listed here and on AM by five minutes, then today I get the Stowaway notification. It was a very pleasant surprise; I figured it might be years down the road to get the AP.

When did you get on the list? Or, when was your list confirmation email?

TIA

I also received my notification last night waytogo.gif. I need to decide what additional goodies to order with it; maybe a flattener.

For reference I signed up on 18 April 2018 at 08:01UK which was 3AM EST then.

John, I recall you were deliberating between the Stowaway and a 95mm Baader Travel Companion? Have you got the Baader yet?

Good news for everyone on the waiting list! I have owned Stowaway # 6 for close to a year now and couldn't be happier.

Happy Holidays,

Jeff

How long did you wait?  You were an original from the 1st stowaway list!  You deserve that scope!!!

2nd person on the original list, so 19 years. I signed up for a Traveler around the same time and received it  back in 2004. This was the last run for the Traveler and the price was $3,480.00 for the scope and $175.00 for the Feather touch 9:1 upgrade.  Great AP is producing the Stowaway in quantities for everyone on the list to have a chance. I feel the current Stowaway pricing is more than fair.

I was near the beginning of that list, too. The price back then indexed for inflation would be ~ $5000 now.

I’m very happy for all of you eventual owners.  I was one of the last in the second run and I didn’t really believe I had a chance until I got “the call.”  Congratulations!  I hope everyone on the list eventually gets one.

I passed when the notice arrived yesterday. I bought a new FSQ-106 EDX4 in August 2018. So all of you who are waiting will now have moved up a place. smile.gif

My confirmation of being on the notification list came from AP on April 17, 2018 at 8:09 PM Pacific time. As I recall, I contacted AP a couple of hours earlier.

Maybe someone else can confirm, but I believe 4/17/2018 was the day that the notification list was opened.

Well spotted @Gavster...

Yes, I'm going to pass on the AP92 in favour of the Baader95CaF2 triplet. I got on the Baader list nearly a year ago (around the time of our conversations) and am expecting the call reasonably soon. I suspect that both the AP92 and BaaderCaF2 are both "sensibly perfect" for visual (as you so eloquently demonstrated), but the versatile form-factor of the Baader wins out for my travel purposes.

Essentially, a happy dilemma...

John

They do them in waves. You'll probably make this run. Not everyone they notify says yes.

This is very true, so you'll likely have a good chance of getting one during this run, ezwheels!  I passed mine up, but don't have any regrets, as I was lucky enough to find a very nice Traveler right around the time that my name came up on the Stowaway list.

There’s good chance they are gonna keep banging these out for years to come. They’ve streamlined the process with the machine ground spherical lenses

Here’s hoping that somebody buys one for 8000 anyway

The package remains a value and deal at 3500 of course. May it continue for the benefit of actual observers and imagers
