For those of us here who can read French, there is a long and excellent review of the Stowaway in this month’s Astrosurf Magazine by André v.d.Elst, a well known and trusted Belgian amateur astronomer. A great article !

They were being nice. Lots of people were still waiting to be notified.

So it just seems to be a pretty general letter.  Since I was recently notified by email of my name coming up, it could be meant specifically for me, but it struck me as, “hey, call us before Jan. 24th of you want one.”

I could be wrong though.  If I am, I apologize.

I'm looking forward to your comments comparing the DL to the Stowaway.

Would you mind sharing what time you got on the list?  I ask because I signed up on April 20th, and it looks like A-P has already gotten to folks who signed up around midnight Eastern time on the 19th. Thanks.

I got contacted having received the confirmation from AP of my signing up around 11PM on the 18th. As I suspected, I got the call the Monday after the deadline expired for those initially contacted for this run.

They really blew through the list with the third run - from the 18th and now either in or pretty darn close to the 20th.  Not surprising really, I would guess the first couple of days had the large numbers of early responders.

Just placed my order after receiving a notification last night.  My name went on the list 11:56 AM EDT on the 19th.  Estimated delivery in May.

I wonder how many AP plans to make?  Maybe 500?  There must be over 300 by now.  I am due to get mine in late March or early April.

Hoping they schedule another run...I was late to the list on the 21st.   I figure there is not much chance this time around.

I was notified yesterday afternoon as well... was placed on the list at 10:44pm eastern on April 19th, 2018. When I called in today to place my order, I asked roughly where I fell in the 3rd run and was told closer to the end than the middle, so I imagine the 3rd run will go into the April 20th sign-ups. She also offered that a 4th run sometime in the future would probably take care of the rest of the list. I feel like I'll be getting off easy after only a two year wait and I'm very much looking forward to receiving my Stowaway in mid to late May.

That's true - it is the cheapest way to buy a Stowaway, even a new one!

I got an email from Paige yesterday that said the Stowaway I was going to get in late March is now delayed two months.  She said Roland is spending his time on a new mount and controller (CP5?).  So instead of getting it in late March now it looks like late May.  Oh well.

Yeah I was April/May but based on the email, I hope to see mine in June/July now.

Most of us have experienced delays...twice for me with the Stowaway and the 160. Be patient it will come in time.
