New decade, New Year, old topic.  Great duo.

https://www.youtube....h?v=NkGf1GHAxhE

Same rules.  Please take a minute to read them.

1) The basic guideline for this thread is to list ads and auctions that others may be interested in. It is not intended to replace CL or eBay as a site to find all possible classic ads. Please keep your posts to actual "classic" equipment. If you have to ask if it's classic, it probably isn't.

2) Do not post your own ads or the ads of your friends, this includes items you may be trying sell for someone else. This is considered sale promotion in the open forums and is a violation of the CN TOS. Please post your own ads in the Swap & Shop forum or the Cloudy Nights Classifieds.

3) We request that you do not post photos from ads. If you must have some reference to a photo in the post, post a link to the photo, not the photo itself.

4) Do not post the entire ad text, or large blocks of it, without permission from the author.

5) Concentrate on the item for sale, and not the seller.

6) Although not mandatory, when posting ads, including a short description of the item is a courtesy to others who don't have time to click on every link. It also provides some data when the link is no longer active. Be a little specific.

Here's an example of a good post:
4" f/8 Jaegers OTA on eBay. LINK

Poor post:
4" telescope. LINK

7) Please post a live link to the item. Do not post "PM me for link". We realize that this is an honest attempt to prevent non-CN member flippers from finding the posts, but most of the hard-core flippers are CN members already. Flippers look for bargains, they won't be outbidding you at top-dollar because they won't make any money on the item. Most of the time you are outbid, it is by a fellow Classics CN member.

8) Please limit yourself to one "found" post per hour. If you find more items within that time, just edit your post and add them, or wait until you have finished looking at all the ad sites and post them all at once.

9) Short discussions can take place about the items listed. When quoting a post, edit the quoted post to include only the part you are replying to. Do not quote an entire string of replies. If not quoting, make a note of what your reply pertains to, so others won't misinterpret your reply. Please keep these discussions limited to the actual items posted. If the discussion becomes protracted or the noise level gets too high, these posts will be moved to a new thread. Further comments on the item should then be made in the new thread.

10) Ads that are odd or have humor may find a better home in the Favorite Used Telescope Ad thread.
Posts that do not follow these posting guidelines or are for items not appropriate for this thread may be removed at moderator discretion.
Buyer Beware- CN is not responsible for any of the ads or auctions posted here or their content. There are some scams floating around, so do your homework before pursuing any ad.

Let's put the replies in perspective.  I did a quick count and came up with about 130 posts that listed scope ads or auctions, giving us a ratio of about 5 non-listing comments per actual listing post.  Room for improvement, but not bad.  It's no sin to start a dedicated thread on a particularly interesting listing, keeping this thread tidy as well as the dedicated thread.

With only 2 days left to go, no bids yet on the APL Sky Chief II that looks nearly new. Someone in CO might be able to pick this up for $10.

Not an astronomical scope, but because there are Bardou lovers here, there is a 52" long, signed, Bardou spyglass with an objective that looks to be 50 to 60 mm, for $200, near Providence RI. So maybe f20? With some support for the tube, it could be an interesting moon/planetary scope. Hard to know what the power is.

Four different Astroscans on eBay, ranging from $99 opening bid to $299 BIN, with a $135 BIN and a $150 OBO in between.

Swift complete kit, for a good price, but remember, if you must cross the Sierras in winter, be careful, remember the Donner party.

The Sky Chief is missing a LOT. Part of the focuser. There is no sign of the counterweight assembly. There is no sign of the tripod hub for the mount.  The hub and mount should be together so this represents a better possibility of the other stuff and more missing. Also no sign of typical accessories like eyepieces or paper work for starters, caps, diagonals, sun filters, that sort of stuff.  I'd look if it were at the Denver Dist. but it's not worth the 150 miles and 2 hours round trip to the Springs for what they show.  Make inquiry on this one or go look first. Howeverrrrrrrrr, I'd buy it blind for $10 if in Denver even for the parts showing you can't go wrong with that price. Still not worth the travel though.

All the Astroscans hit around $200 or more with shipping. They'd have to be a lot more loaded for that.  I have three in Denver and don't need them all.

There is the whole bottom half of the box that they don't show, which is where the counterweight and accessories would be stored and tied down. So I wouldn't assume it's missing, especially given the condition. They may simply have been afraid to disturb them. It would be worth a request for more info from someone who's close enough to be able to pick it up.

Somewhat like the Swift, which doesn't actually show the telescope, except for little bits peeking out. I've noticed that some SGW and CL photographers seem to put a lot of effort into documenting the box and woodwork, perhaps because they are used to thinking in terms of antique furniture.

It doesn’t say or show any of them to be broken.

I know. But mine came with one sheared off and no way to get it out.

Possibly a 4" Edmund. Looks like there is an Edscorp sticker on the tube, and the focuser has the black knobs. The finder looks like some Edmunds I have, but in black. Although the cell could be Jaegers -- hard to see. Either way, well worth $30.

That’s an early Edmund F15 refractor OTA!, either the 3” or the 4”. It’s hard to tell without something better for scale but I think it’s the 4”.

If the seller's measurements are correct with draw tube pulled in and without dew shield, it would OMG be 4" me thinks. The best deal of 2020!
