Dear observers,

we have a clear night, and the moon is in a favourable position in the sky. I decided to sketch crater Catharina and parts of rupes altai with my 4 inch refractor. The image is mirror reversed. Again, I used chalk pencils for that.

At what magnification, if you don't mind?

Excellent work, as usual!

I used a moderate magnification of 120. This is adequate for such a large terrain.

Beautiful sketch Uwe. Seeing what you have produced with chalk pencils recently, I picked up some over Christmas. Hoping to try and sketch the lunar surface this year, but I get the feeling it's going to be a steep learning curve.

Clear skies,

Darren.
