Happy new year to all of you!

Here's my final sketch of 2019, the cigar shaped NGC 1023 or "Perseus Lenticular Galaxy". This one is very bright, especially the core. With effort, a small patch of nebulosity can be seen on one extension, this is NGC 1023A (Arp 135; nearby fragments) and can (hopefully) be seen down in the sketch. No dustlane was found.

Nice sketch, it takes fairly good seeing and dark skies to see ngc 1023a .

Beautiful sketch as usual, Its like I'm looking through the eyepiece of your scope!

Its been cloudy and raining for a while, and I haven't had a chance to do any deep sky observing, so thank you for letting me have a view of NGC 1023 through your scope!

Happy New Year Martijn,

Your ability to sketch what you see through the eyepiece is outstanding. You've produced another fine illustration here. Also, the images on your website are as equally impressive. bow.gif

Clear skies,

Darren.
