So when I set up this morning I saw a very bright "spike" on the southern pole of the sun and by the time I attached the camera it was already gone (yeah Rick, I'm S-L-O-W!), so I could still see a hint of brightness in that area so I set up to capture an AVI every 60 seconds for 30 minutes while I worked with the guy replacing my thermostat this morning.  Thank goodness for the Hinode Guider keeping the area where I wanted it to be and I caught this additional activity between 9:40 and 10:10 EST.  Clouds were passing through so I did my best to match the brightness of each frame so it wouldn't blink too much!  Also got a chance to capture some images in HA and CaK of AR2755 as it dies away.

The third and fourth images are really interesting. There appears to be several concentric circles around the sunspot. Fascinating. Great images as usual, cheers………..

Yeah, those are Newton Rings that I thought the auto-flats had gotten rid of!  I'll have to see if I can reduce the effect of them.  they aren't as noticeable at full size.

You always seem to be at the right place at the right time to catch those awesome animations! The Hinode gizmo really works well!
