Hello, not used my LX200 for a year or so. Was a clear night last night, so I got it out & I left it for half an hour or so on auto set up. When I returned display showed 'set time'.

1] I'm baffled as I thought it set the time from GPS ?

2] Furthermore the format doesn't make sense. ie 22:33:86pm. Hours & minutes I guess, but what's the third pair of figures for ?

Any help appreciated thanks

If you have an LX200GPS, you need to update the firmware. They did not take into account the GPS rollover that happened back in April. The latest firmware fixes the issue.

Is Autostar updater the firmware or a programme to tranfer the downloaded firmware to the telescope ?

I have RS232 lead & USB adapter.

I tried to download the autostar updater here by clicking on "Click Here to download AutoStar Updater 6.0," in the long page of text, but says content not available !

Here is the link. 6.0 is not the latest version.

Is this Autostar update or telescope firmware update ?
Or are they one & the same thing ?

Not clear if it's Mac or Windows. I have Mac

When I click on the downloaded file 'AU2 ver 6.1.exe' it opens Elmedia audio player & starts playing a sound file on my Mac !

Bizarre !

I'm guessing it's windows only ?

Autostar update is to install firmware on your scope. Yes, it is a Windows program. Files that end in .exe are windows program files. I have never seen a mac version.

Thank you. Time to dig out my PC. Though no doubt the version of windows on it will be the wrong one !
