HI,  I recently picked up a Meade 8" inch LX200GPS ACF and on one of the forks it has label Peterson Equipped  on this 2009 model. What exactly does this mean? Thanks Bob

It has one or more Peterson Engineering upgrades - likely nylon to metal gear upgrades, a clutch upgrade and/or a focuser upgrade.  Check them out here:

It should not be too difficult to figure out which ones were done.

Well last night had a chance to try it out and what ever the Peterson equipped scope has as an upgrade over a std out of factory model, it was pretty impressive. Slews are quieter, the tracking doesnt make those knocking sounds ive heard on std Meade LX200GPS that I have owned or observed through prior, and goto's are dead on even with a quick 2 star alignment with a 26mm eyepiece. . Pretty impressed
