A lot more than that.  It's still just a 10" SCT, and not that rare of one.  The 12", 16" or 22" would be worth extra above their aperture because of their relative rarity.  Even the 6" and the blue and white 8"

I read 114 on the Instruction Sheet.  Kinda surprised GW will ship it -- tending towards LPO these days on scopes in wood cases.

The 3 inch and larger Unitrons have a white painted finderscope matching the main optical tube.

Old stuff always get our attention   but in  a cost benefit breakdown   I would sooner take the money and go see the  60's 8 inch Criterion  350 ask for months

https://hudsonvalley...7061961395.html

Had the same scope back in 1980.  It was sharp.

More like run away. Friend had a C10 and nothing was great about it.  I can see $2500 max.

The C10 I had was very sharp.   Was a great scope.  Loved the color combo.

are the white 16" Meade sct's a classic yet?

https://astromart.co...nd-50mm-filters

Interesting scope.   B&L tessar   lens.  AP focuser.  Looks a bit crude.

https://astromart.co...eil-doublet-ota

this Zeiss 130mm looks pretty.  Been up for sale for a while.   Looks like a large Unitron with much better optics.

The above is definitely a 60mm x 900mm Model 114.

Now, here is a fantastic price on a set of three Unitron orthos from member Goodash:

https://www.cloudyni...eyepiece-set-3/

I have the same three and I paid as much just for my 5mm (straight letter). Check out Al’s other Unitron stuff he currently has on sale here.

The RCX400 debuted in 2005 with what Meade billed as an 'advanced Ritchey–Chrétien design', and the LX200R followed in 2006. Of course, neither were truly Ritchey–Chrétien designs, so in the end (after a lawsuit) Meade started calling the design the ACF, Advanced Coma Free.

Just give it another 10 years, and then we can start with the RCX's and LX200R's lol.gif lol.gif

1999 isn't classic yet by the forum criteria, although some of the components (like the Byers gears) may be old enough.

I corresponded with Dave about the mount, shortly after buying the Pentax from him, since I have been thinking about replacing the mount in my observatory with something heavier, and going back to classic setting circles, after my frustrations with go-to mounts of various makes. It has large, accurate circles that he made himself. But I think most people would want to put something this massive on a permanent pier, which would need custom machining of an adapter.

Takahashi FC-50 + GA-4 + Guidescope Assembly + Case:  https://www.ebay.com...mCondition=3000

IIRC, Tom Duncan had a similar mount to use the FC-50 on a larger scope.

JCP Reflector (60x1000) + EQ-2 Mount:  https://www.ebay.com...mCondition=3000

CZJ Telementor 1 (Helical) Kit + Turret + Wood Trunk:  https://www.ebay.com...KIAAOSwmgNeKXlh

BIN is ~ $740 total.

I would love it if it was a F/8 but my back says no way.

Note that in the ad, a 200 pound pier is mentioned.
