Hello folks. I'm refurbishing my first telescope (Orion XT8i Intelliscope). My encoder in the base of the dob is missing two transistors, U3 and U4. The encoder on the side has a U1 and U2 with "A 17S" imprinted on them. Does anyone happen to know what transistors could be used to replace the missing ones on the base encoder?

Just out of curiosity, how does that happen?

Does it work? Sometimes manufacturers leave un-needed components un-populated. For maybe another option or for different hardware. Components do't just disappear unless a very catastrophic failure occurs.

U3 and U4 aren't transistors.  They're the hall sensors used for measuring position.

Well, if anyone needs some Allegro A3515LUA hall sensors, I'll soon have 14 of them!
