I got "caught up" in the 1100 price increase but glad I went ahead. With the Mach2 increase I'm sure the next round of 1100s will go up again as well.

I guess since AP announced the Mach2’s price, it’s finally going into production. I’m looking forward to getting notified. I put my name on the list on 1 May 2020.

Well I'm sure they will move through the list a lot faster this round. I'd imagine a number of folks would pass given the price change.

The $9K old price made no sense in comparison with 2021 price of AP1100.  Another round of raw material price spikes and more labor pricing pressures made it inevitable, I expect.  The Mach2 price increase of ~$2000 is more than the ~$1700 bump on the AP1100 in the spring, especially when you consider that gave an APCC-Pro s/w upgrade to slightly water down the bump.  The Mach2 always came with APCC-Pro, so this is a pure price rise.  This price increase would also foretell of another price rise in the AP1100, as it is $1300 less than the Mach2 (w/o encoders), but is significantly larger in capacity (much more higher priced aluminum to CNC).  I would guess that on contemporaneous basis, with similar pricing margins, the Mach2 and AP1100 (w/o encoders) would sell for about the same price.

 

I put my name on the Mach2 list in Nov2020 and on the AP1100 a week later, at the time of much friendlier prices.  The Mach2 was my preferred choice for my use case, as its capacity was more than enough, considering A-P's spec conservatism.   I was going to get what ever one came available.  When the prices went up on the AP1100, I had some indigestion, but after a look around on the alternatives, I decided to get the AP1100 when my name came up.  I was told to expect Sep2021, and I am still waiting.  This Mach2 price increase makes me very glad that I put my money down on the AP1100.
