Hey guys I recently got in to imaging and my setup is fairly minimal:

Zwo Asi290mm uncooled

Canon 50mm Lens

Sky Watcher az-gti

Where I image from, I dont get to put a lot of time in to one object. I am working on getting a better location to image from but here is what my data looks like after a typical night. I am a terrible judge of my own images. Is there anything that stands out right away that can be improved?

31x 120s Subs

31 Darks

51 Bias

7nm H-alpha filter

Gain 200

Offset 60

Unguided.

Thanks for your help!

Looks pretty good to me.

Just add more exposure to make it smoother & brighter.

(Cooled camera would help...)

I appreciate the insight, working on solutions to both. Thank you!

I tent to feel the following about my images and am looking for insight/ ways to improve:

1) My sky/ background is always off

2) I do a terrible job getting the most from my data in post when it comes to stretching, curves, etc..

Hey!,

can you give us a link where we can see the image with more detail?

I think you have a problem with your stars in the left side, right?

regards

Juan

Hey Juan,

Sure thing! Here's a link  but that is still a cropped version. The picture is rotated 90 degrees counter clockwise from how it was captured.

I can see the oblong stars and there could be some tilt introduced somewhere in the optical train. My post was more in regards to data capture and processing but any help is  most appreciated
