Seeing was really bouncing around, unfortunately on many of the frames it wasn't great when the capture started!  I need the AutoRun Program on Firecapture to sync with the Scintillation monitor program so when it automatically cues to start a capture that the scintillation monitor pauses the capture until seeing improves!  Kind of what I used to do when I did all of the capturing manually by watching the screen and a timer to cue a capture but I would hold off if the seeing went south until it got better!  Trade offs for animating these things!  Anyway, the large prom on the right throws off a twisting bit of plasma so decided to keep it!  Captured 500 frames every minute for 45 minutes of real time.  Autostakkert 3, IMPPG and PS CC to put together the GIF.  Lunt LS60T Skyris 236M  iOptron CEM 25P

Nice animation Warren, how do you mask the disc in your animations?    is it a batch process?

Thanks Martin!  Unfortunately it is not a batch process.  When I bring the frames into Photoshop I select the white disc and then paint it in with black and have to do that for each frame/layer.  I have tried to find a way to color in each layer at one time but haven't found any tutorials or ways to actually color in each layer at once.  It isn't that big of a deal since most of my animations are made up of 60 frames or less.  I can't imagine doing it on the animation you did with hundreds of frames.

Still looks great, Warren. So you use AiryLabs SSM?

Thanks Belt!  No, I do not have the SSM, thinking I could use one if there was a way to sync it with the AutoRun in FireCapture to automatically take sequences but only when the seeing was at a certain level.  Before I started using AutoRun I just sat at the computer and would start a capture about every minute as long as the seeing looked steady.  If it looked bad I would just hold off until it settled down, but that is pretty tedious!

Warren, I batch process my layer coloring in GIMP . I automate the process  with Mini Mouse Macro, a small freeware program, it's tricky to work out at first, but a breeze once you get the hang of it.

Can you mask with it so you are only coloring a particular area? I know I can add color to all layers in PS, (at least I have heard that!) it’s adding the mask so only the disk is blacked out that is the trick. I'll check out that Mini Mouse Macro, thanks.

I think so as you are just replicating  mouse clicks I will give it a try next time
