Hi all.  I’ve read several posts on prism vs. mirror diagonals, as well as Bill P’s great diagonal review and am thinking of getting the Baader 1.25 T2 w/32mm prism (non-Zeiss) to use between my 120ED and C8.  I’m currently back to running the C8 with the stock visual back and prism diagonal anyway (but don’t like the metal screw system to hold eyepieces).  Other than not being able to use my single remaining 2” eyepiece, am I giving up anything other than a couple tenth degrees FOV?  I think I have a 2”-1.25” adapter somewhere...

thanks!

I used that Baader prism with my SW120ED and thought it held up real well against the AP Maxbright and Vernonscope Quartz diagonal.  It is definitely noticeably better than the SW stock diagonal.

Thanks for the reply, Dave.  I'm currently using an AT 2" dielectric diagonal, which might be a bit better than the SW (or might not - they seemed very similar).  How was the FOV?  You must have missed being able to use your 30mm APM.

I added the Baader prism when I had a 61mm APO because it was lighter.  I tried it with the 120 to see how it worked (excellent), but I always use the 2" diagonal with the 120mm.   The Baader I sold when I sold my 61mm and 80mm refractors.
