The moon dominated my main viewing area tonight, so I sketched Aristarchus and Herodotus, together with the fascinating rille nearby. I was particularly struck by the obvious talus slopes on the southern wall of the former. The view looking south was pretty amazing...

Wow! Nice job, Astron. :)

It's been a while since I've congratulated a lunar sketcher for tackling a difficult subject. There's a reason I don't do many lunar sketches, they're too difficult for me.

It appears I was observing Aristarchus, Herodotus and Vallis Schroteri at nearly the same time as you, Astron. 

The Cobra's head was seriously conspicuous from Dublin, Ireland, reasonably near to the lunar terminator. 

I saw a number of other wonderful features also with my William Optics 158 mm apochromatic refractor.

thanks for showing this Aristarchus sketch. I like how dominant the crater is in the surrounding darker area!
