I am addicted to it actually and offer free DPAC testing to those who will submit their scopes (11" aperture and under) for testing, can actually fit on the bench and are willing to submit to the testing results, which may not be pleasant.   

 

My experience is almost identical to Paul's and others in that, I've never encountered poor images in scopes that tested well in DPAC and star testing.   One other thing DPAC shows instantly is the state of polish on the system.  Done properly, DPAC can be similar to a KE and surface roughness has no where to hide.  The visual subjective effects of various degrees of surface and circular polishing zones can be intensely debated but it's presence cannot be.   See the attached examples.

its worth repeating that many a good telescope was ruined by a bench test.
