Those of you who have been using David Lorenz's light pollution map at http://djlorenz.gith...tronomy/lp2006/ might want to know: 

 

David has given me permission to mount his lightpollution map on top of open street maps. This is a handy tool for finding dark sky sites. David does have a version mounted on top of Google Street maps. But that version is defaced with google's message "for development purposes only" and is hard to read. (Google is now invoicing clients of their map API, we're moving away from google maps.) 

 

The version on open street maps is much easier to use:
