Since 17 Mars Belgium is in a sort of lockdown for the coronavirus. No way to go to a dark location for observation frown.gif  But I'm happy that I can observe in my little garden. The lightpollution I have to take with the smile! Every clear night I propose at my fellow observers an easy target. The first night it was Venus. The second Mizar & Alcor. No hardcore observing, but fun to sketch.

How are you sketching? You are showing a dark circle with a dark back ground. How are you drawing on black?

I honestly prefer seeing drawings then fake colors most people filter into their astrophotography.

The only Astrophotography I like is with all natural colors or black and white photos.

I agree that sketching and just relaxing and enjoying yourself and your views are much more relaxing and enjoyable to me then fumbling around with computers and everything else, especially at home.

Though we are now in the window of the Messier Marathon so this should be a busy weekend for me.

Outstanding sketch  waytogo.gif   I'm sure somewhere above my cloudy skies I could see this too.

Thanks all for your reactions and likes!

I'm just working with an ordinary pencil on white printing paper. I invert the colors with GIMP (after scanning).

I think this is great- we have to keep going and I think the warm summer nights are going to be great for not just amateurs but a lot of people confined to their houses but who can look up at the night sky!

I agree, Jef, if at all possible. We're on lock down with essential travel, but apparently there is also a curfew til 8PM. I am not clear is that means strictly indoors or just being at "home".

Hello Jef, in germany it will be discussed this evening, if we got a shutdown everywhere. I'm glad to have an own observatory in the garden, so i can also use it. I hope, that this situation ends in nearly future! Clear skies,Jens
