After sketching M81 (Bode's Galaxy), the logical choice for the next object was M82 (Cigar Galaxy). I could ramble on endlessly about the visible structures, bright patches, dark intrusions etc. but I think it's better just to let the sketch speak for itself. This is definitely one of the best objects that the northern sky has to offer.

The sketch speaks volumes!  Excellent reproduction.  I saw both M81 and M82 just last night.  Thanks for sharing.
