Dont know anything about this kind of scope. If I get a chance to see it what should I look for. Is $75 a good price?00P0P_5ZJWtLE0vV_600x450.jpg 00909_fLjd0DTIKsH_600x450.jpg 00y0y_lVZElNP9q5r_600x450.jpg

It is a DEAL.

Look near the focuser end and see if it has a plate that says MULTI COATED OPTICS GROUP,

If it doesn't have this plate, that is good. If it does have it, look down at the PRIMARY MIRROR and see the relection of the SECONDARY MIRROR. Look for the SECONDARY MIRROR to be nice and clean, with no pitted areas. Even if it is pitted some. This Telescope is definitely worth $75.

 I would buy it.

The tripod alone is worth it!

Hmmm.

There is such a thing as 'too cheap'...

No way that should sell for $75

It is obviously being sold by someone who does not know what they have...

Maybe a widow

Maybe a thief

I'd want to verify it is not 'hot'

It's either a lx-6 (f/6.3) or a premier f/6.3 or f/10. I didn't see a picture of the computer module ( c.a.t.) that plugs into the base. A picture of the front corrector plate will give a better idea.
Either way, for $75 it's a superb deal on a very capable scope.

A agree with Chuckfishes - and based on the green "Q", I think it is likely a Premier (either f/6.3 or f/10). I am pretty sure the LX6 drive bases had either yellow or red Q's - but I'm not 100% sure about that. That sounds like an awesome research project for me to dig into (unless someone else has already figured all that out).

$75 for that whole rig is a steal (maybe literally!)...

If the telescope works and he's not selling it for parts, get it and you won't regret it.

Right !  Just tell him you are on the way with the cash. I would offer him $100 to sew up the deal. Can't believe he still has it at that price.

The way he has it pictured (OTA upside down in the forks), shows he does not know about scopes, which still leaves me wondering if it is stolen. I would want to see some sort of proof of ownership ...

Like I said earlier, the 75- price tag sets off some alarms

Even if it has a bad primary or no primary or no corrector its worth way more in parts alone.

A gentleman from Chico Ca. picked it up. There is a vendor here on CL from Chico, sells used stuff. Maybe he got it?
