In the SDO/HMI continuum image below, the sun spot has been

hanging in there for several hours.  There seems to be some

weak plage emission showing at that location in Gong H-alpha

images as well.  Alexander Pope was right about hope .....

Image with a SW 80, 3x Barlow,  Baader 5 ND filter, ZWO 290MM, SharpCap Seeing Filter

at 1617 UT on a windy day.  Captured 1000 frames and dropped ~6000 frames.

Here's what the sun spot looks like today (March 31)

at 1041 UT.  No designation yet as an active region,

despite the fact that activity has been occurring.
