I am trying to decide if I should buy the asi294mc or the asi071mc camera.

Anybody out there with one or both of these?  What are your thoughts?

I have a william optics Z73 scope.

thanks!

I decided today between the two and I went with ASI071MC Pro. After reading some issues with the 290 about cooling and it does not cool the entire sensor evenly which causes an uneven artifact, you can process it out but more work. The ASI071MC Pro has built in front glass warmer which is very important to me for dew control.

To cloud the water a bit for you.....

The new ASI2600MC-pro uses the same size sensor but has the no amp glow circuitry, more pixels, 16 bit ADC and much higher QE.

My $.02

I went with the ASI071MC-Pro when facing this decision because of a good deal, but wow that ASI2600MC looks nice. If you plan on mostly EAA type observing, the ASI294MC is a heck of a camera for that.

I recently bought the ASI533MC-Pro and the No amp glow seems to work really well.  I am impatiently looking forward to imaging with it if the weather and Covid will ever allow.
