It looks like QHY is now going to have a more competitive IMX455 with the QHY600Lite priced the same as the ASI6200MM. The memory is dropped to 1GB with the Lite, but it’s still more than ZWO’s 256MB. It’s unclear i the QHY600Lite keeps the K (professional) version of IMX455 or if it’s the C (consumer) version.

Two different questions related to this topic:

  1. Is there an adapter available for connecting Takahashi M72 to ZWO's OAG / tip-tilt M68?  Or does this require Precise Parts?  i.e. trying to attach ASI6200/filter-wheel/OAG image-train to a Takahashi scope with a TOA/FS Reducer which requires M72 male threads.
  2. Has anyone tried the QHY filter-wheel that uses square filters?  Would be nice to reuse the rather large investment I have in 50mm square Astrodons.

I have mine custom made since it's not just the step-down conversion but also the backfocus distance I need. I've had my past adapters made by PreciseParts a few years back but their prices seems to have gone up quite a bit. So with my ASI6200MM I had my adapters made by an Aussie fellow (J.Bunn) who's priced much better than PreciseParts. I found him on the Australian IceInSpace Forum which he got good reviews from local Aussie members. He made 3 adapters for me and all were very well made. As I was concerned about tilt, he measured the tilt of my setup (I posted him my ASI6200/EFW/OAG/Tak CAA rig).

All 3 were made for about 35-40% less than what PreciseParts would have cost me. Actually I should state that despite the price being for all 3, he actually had made me an earlier 4th (or 1st) adapter which was incorrect due to specs I gave him. He absorbed the cost for that adapter despite me giving him the incorrect specs.

Baader has a M72 to M68 female adapter, you will need a M68 male-male adapter also to connect it together with the OAG.

What about problems reported by SGP users using ASI 6200?  Not sure if it is related to USB 3 or some kind of issue in data transfer but I think it it worth mentioning.
