The Current LNB placed at Focus supplies two Coaxial chords; one of the two chords will be used for SDR, and displayed on a tablet RF Analyzer.

Oh this looks like it will be a fun project..
You can build a VerySmallArray when you get 4-5 more dishes and mounts..

As others have said, this is very interesting and is a subject I've been interested for a long time. To the OP, please keep us up to speed, and for the benefit of folks like me who have no experience with radio astronomy, please document the project so that a newby like me could reproduce it and build a similar system.

I posted this here under "Forum -> Mounts" just to show how the mount can be adapted for something else besides the telescope it came with.
I was hoping a diff section would be more suitable for further information on the project, something like "Non-Optics Astronomy" or "Other Astronomy" and this whole project belongs on a different forum lol

Is that the Etx-60 / 80 fork drive? It's hard for me to visualize the size from the pictures... but it looks like it could be.

Thanks, this one is the largest one, the ETX-125 it needs to support the weight

While the original poster said that they thought this should be in another forum, it just seems a shame to move this off to an obscure forum that only has ~1,500 posts where it will probably fade away.

I don't really know where to put this post, my adaptation of the Meade Fork Mount seemed interesting and would be okay in the Mount Forum. But as I continue adding parts to this project (none of which are mount related) I don't know if this post belongs there, or here, or where exactly.
I asked the moderators for guidance. They think it's criterion belongs here, so I think I will make another post, once again in the Mounts forum and it will have a link to this post which will from this point on steer into using it for Radio Astronomy.

Have you tried the dish/LNB/receiver combo out just stationary? Were you able to detect the sun, galactic center and anything else?

As a moderator in Mounts, I have moved this thread from Mounts to Observation Astrophysics for obvious reasons... However since it had such a following in the Mounts forum, I left a link there so the thread could still be easily accessed from anyone that was following. As per the TOS, discussion of moderation should be taken off-line, so if anyone has any other questions please PM me.
Let's get back to the topic at hand, as IMHO is one of the more interesting topics I have seen in a while.

I have tried the Antenna Dish with the current LNB and it detects the noise from the sun, and several other things.
I will show the instrument sequence in the next post.
I would need a different LNB / Feed Horn to detect the galactic stretch or the Sun Hydrogen Line.

I haven't placed those into one instrument compartment yet, but here are the parts, when used they would be connected together with coaxial cables leading to the current LNB mounted on the Antenna (dish) through one of its two coaxial ports, and the bottom module fed with a 13-18v DC. This bottom module has a cap but I opened it to show how it's put together.
With this setup it detects the noise from the sun (even when its cloudy), it gives readings for trees and buildings, and obviously satellites. It should give readings for whatever disorder you throw in front of the antenna really.
This is not the SDR setup for this telescope, this is also not the setup for galactic noise, or sun hydrogen line.
I will get to all that stuff in upcoming posts.

I run my school district's observatory (as a retired volunteer) and can see this as a project to propose to the teachers next year. So please keep up the reports!!
To keep interest in our observatory while the schools are closed I now publish a weekly newsletter of objects to observe, some star lore from other cultures (this week is Hawaii) and similar material to the teaching and administrative staff.

Awesome man - I have much respect for your dedication and giving to students something in this field!
I think this little telescope is suitable for a lot of courses depending on the NGSS per grade level and district.
I am writing a curriculum for the k-8 Astronomy Outreach here, so some things regarding design of several parts I cannot really share given it is a privately registered and funded program so most of the information here should also be available online on other sites.
What do you do in your program?
