Had about 3 minutes through heavy high cloud last night before Mercury disappeared for good. Thank goodness it was so close to Venus or it would have been a nightmare to find. Had nice views of the pair through the finder. 12" f5 Newtonian at f20 with ADC, and 610 Baader longpass, ASI290MM.

Kuiper, a bright ray crater, is visible at top left. POssibly another visible towards the bottom of the disc - but I havent been able to ID it yet.

It is really inspiring to see this series of images that you and a few others here are doing on Mercury that reveal features.

Nice image Nick!  I've noticed Mercury the past couple of nights very close to Venus.  Tonight there was a nice triangle formed by Venus, Mercury, and the barely visible crescent Moon.
